Welcome to the second Gun Barrel Steak and Game House, a family owned business which originated in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The first restaurant opened in 1993 in what had formerly been the Wyoming Wildlife Museum and Taxidermy. The decor in both restaurants was inspired by the museums’ atmosphere and collection of unique artifacts and mounts. This second location opened in the summer of 2005 and incorporates aspects of scenic Utah into its structure and furnishings.
The restaurant in St. George contains many distinctive works of art and tributes to the western region. The wood trim and the table tops are made of trestlewood from the railroad that went around the Great Salt Lake. Hanging in the restaurant is a poster from the classic western film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid signed by Paul Newman and Robert Redford, in addition to numerous historical artifacts and game mounts.
The Gun Barrel Steak and Game House name was taken from the small east Texas town of Gun Barrel City. The city’s first hand-painted sign from the 1950’s was given to us and still hangs in The Gun Barrel Steak and Game House in Wyoming. The original Gun Barrel contains many of the original mounts from the Museum as well as pieces of Western history, including Hank Williams Jr.s 1800’s buffalo coat that he wore on the Lone Wolf album. The restaurant also contains the largest barbed wire collection in the West and an antique gun collection featuring a .82 caliber rampart gun from India forged in the 1700’s.
One of the signatures of the Gun Barrel Steak and Game House restaurants is the open grill. Patrons are welcome to watch chefs cook a variety of meats on the grill where mesquite wood is used to create a flavorful and distinctive taste.

Coming from I-15 South, take EXIT 8 – St. George Blvd. Keep right at the fork to go onto East St George Blvd/UT-34 W. Follow for 1.9 miles and make a right onto North Bluff Street. Stay on North Bluff Street for 1.2 miles. The Gun Barrel will be on the left shortly after the intersection of Bluff Street and Sunset Blvd.
From the South (Las Vegas)
Coming from I-15 North, take Exit 6 – North Bluff Street. Turn left onto UT-18 N/S Bluff St/I-15-BL N. Continue to follow UT-18 N/S Bluff Street for 3.2 miles. The Gun Barrel will be on the left shortly after the intersection of Bluff Street and Sunset Blvd.
